I love that D.C. is home to so many unique neighborhoods, each with its own charm. This month, we highlight Bethesda. You'll also learn which home renovations will increase the value of your house. Enjoy! – David Getson

Arts-and-crafts home at 4817 De Russey Parkway in Bethesda
Adjacent to D.C., Bethesda is a vibrant, urban center with a bustling downtown, fantastic restaurants and local boutiques. Thanks to the coveted Bethesda-Chevy Chase school district, the community is home to many families, who are also drawn to the many family-friendly attractions like Imagination Stage. If you can make it to a Friday show (field trip!), the actors come out and answer questions afterwards, which is such a great way for kids to learn more about theatre.
After the show, grab dinner at True Food Kitchen, which focuses on healthy, seasonal food. The beautiful veggies and delish cocktails get us every time.

If you fall in love with the neighborhood, go ahead and snap up this immaculate, arts-and-crafts home with four floors of luxurious living space. Give us a call if you’d like a private tour!

Which neighborhoods do you enjoy showing your clients? I get super excited about Cleveland Park. Every house is unique, and there is so much history to explore. You can buy a detached home with character and still walk to parks, the metro and shops.
What’s the most unique amenity you’ve seen in a home recently? A central vacuum. It makes a lot of sense when your home is 4000 square feet on four levels!
Tell us a fun fact about yourself. I lived abroad and traveled Western Europe solo for a year when I was 20. I was the first person in my family to visit since my great-grandparents left Italy.

Planning to remodel your kitchen, add a master suite, or undertake some other pricey home renovation in 2018? Watch out — not all of these home improvements pay off like they might have in the past, according to Realtor.com's latest analysis. Projects that help with resale focus on curb appeal, like new garage doors, new windows and wood decks. Minor kitchen remodels and bathroom renovations are also high on the list for recouping most of your investment. Before you renovate, give us a call. We'll come in and walk through the renovations with you, so that you can understand which projects will add value to your home and which to skip. Think of us as your home consultants!
