I love Thanksgiving – the food, the crisp fall weather, the food, the cocktails. (Did I mention the food?) We at the Mandy & David Team are so thankful for all of you, our amazing clients! Happy Thanksgiving! - David Getson

We love any holiday centered around food, so we’d like to share some of our team members’ favorite Thanksgiving recipes. If you’re like us, part of the thrill of cooking is trying something new. Take our word for it – you’ll be glad you did!
Rotisserie turkey – Copywriter Lisa Cain cooks her bird on the rotisserie grill. Delicious and juicy, plus it frees up the oven! (Use a roasting pan to catch the drippings for gravy.)
Cranberry sauce – Agent Donnell Kearney loves the red wine and orange zest combination in this easy cranberry sauce.
Onion tart – Agent Jennifer Vaughan first made this onion tart in graduate school, when she hosted all of the misfits who didn’t make it home for the holiday. Now it’s a staple on her Thanksgiving table.

Simple stuffing – Jill Johnson, our operations manager, loves this simple stuffing, which is her mom's recipe and a family tradition.
Cranberry cobbler – Lisa's cranberry cobbler stands apart from the traditional Thanksgiving pies and could not be easier to make. She makes it gluten free by substituting Cup4Cup flour.
Thanksgiving is a time for family and friends to gather. If you have company in town, these outings will get you in the holiday spirit.
Parades – Surprisingly, there isn’t a Thanksgiving Day parade in D.C. But both Silver Spring and Reston have parades, so you don’t have to go far.
Holiday Displays – Your family will be sure to enjoy Mt. Vernon by candlelight, the Zoo Lights display at the National Zoo, the holiday trains at the Botanic Gardens, and the opportunity to create your own holiday wreath at the Hillwood Estate.

David Evans

A client of the Mandy & David Team for ten years, David Evans finally embraced his love of real estate and joined the team as an agent last year.
Which neighborhoods do you enjoy showing your clients? My husband and I recently moved to – and love – the Michigan Park area. I enjoy pointing buyers to opportunities nearby, because I want more great neighbors!
What’s your favorite restaurant? For special occasions (like our eighth anniversary last month!) we really enjoy Masseria by Nicholas Stefanelli, in Union Market.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself. I have lived on three continents, worked in nearly 50 countries, had more than 40 mailing addresses and own a home in the Venezuelan Andes. It's no wonder that I enjoy helping my clients find their place in the world!
